I work at Chipotle as a crew member. I started in August of 2018. I was really nervous when I applied because I have not worked with food and customer service, as time passed by I got very comforable and I believe I'm good in what I do but still have a lot more to learn. My position at Chipotle is the tortilla person. If I work on a morning shift I get to make the chips and taco shells and if it is a night shift I just stand by the press and welcome the customers and ask them what I would get started for them, which is a bowl, salad, a burrito, or something from our secret menu. When I work most of the time my position is the tortilla person but I sometimes get put on expo, which is asking the customer if their order of food is for here or to go and if they would like chips or drinks. Chipotle is not a bad place to work at. I decided to work at Chipotle because I'm getting older and I need to know how the adult life is. I can't have things handed easily to me.

Some of the challenges working at Chipotle was getting out of my comfort zone because like I said at the beginning of this writing, I haven't worked with customer service. Another thing is meeting the goals that Chipotle has set up for the crew members, like throughput. Throughput is making sure the line of customers goes fast under a certain time during peak hours. There are a lot of highlights working at Chipotle. One of them is meeting great people and getting to learn new things. Another thing is getting weekly bonuses based on how the employee's work. Lastly, is that Chipotle will pay full tuition for our education like college, GED, etc. Most of all knowing our customers that go to Chipotle on a daily and just getting their food started by not having to ask them because we remember their order unless they want to try something new.  What I personally gained from working here is being outgoing and doing new things.

Chipotle got me out of my comfort zone and now I greet customers with confidence and I talk to a lot more people than I had before. I personally think that Chipotle is a great job for a first job because as students they know for sure your education is important and they make sure you put it first. The managers and any other person above them understand and make the schedules flexible for the employees, which is what I love about working at Chipotle. What I also gained from working here at Chipotle is learning how to cook certain things and all about food safety. Chipotle is very careful with their food and we make sure that no one complains and that everyone is happy. Chipotle cares about everything and I think every job should be like that. My work experience at Chipotle is going pretty good.
